Good morning friends! An important event was held yesterday - a round table on the Development and Delivery of Treatment and Counselling Services to Child Sexual Offenders, in Particular, Online Offenders.
This was the first event of the International Online Conference “Children and the Internet – Government Response”, which is carried out for specialists of law enforcement agencies and government authorities working in the field of education and social protection of the population
on the initiative of the Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Children's Rights Mykola Kuleba in partnership with the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative in Ukraine, Children’s Rescue Service and the stop_sexting educational project.
International experts take part in round tables as speakers. In particular, they tell about online child safety helplines for parents, teachers, and children, as well as educational programs for police, judges, and prosecutors on documenting, investigating, and prosecuting child sexual abuse cases. During events we also talk about the specifics of service delivery to families and children – victims of the online abuse. It is especially important to provide professional and high-quality help to children who have been abused, also online, and the support that can restore child's sense of security. In addition, there is an urgent need in comprehensive work with children offenders, because effective preventive measures can reduce repeated crime risks.
Therefore, we call on representatives of relevant professional communities who are not indifferent to the range of outlined problems, to join the next planned events and become a part of an important endeavor.
